Tatsuro Yamashita For You Tee
Following the success of Ride on Time in 1980, Tatsuro Yamashita entered a prolific period of touring and recording. Released in 1982, For You became his second number-one album in Japan, blending polished songwriting with a sound shaped for car stereos and early portable players.
Produced with a strong “resort pop” feel, the album helped cement Yamashita’s association with summer imagery and coastal escapism. The cover artwork, illustrated by Eizin Suzuki, became one of the most recognisable visuals of the era.
