Bob Dylan

Bob Dylan signed to Columbia in 1961 after John Hammond heard him play harmonica on a Carolyn Hester recording session. His second and third albums, The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan and The Times They Are a-Changin', placed him at the centre of the New York folk revival; the electric pivot of 1965, across Bringing It All Back Home and Highway 61 Revisited, split that audience and produced the most contested period of his career.
