In William Klein’s 1966 satirical feature Who Are You, Polly Maggoo?, fashion, media, and celebrity are filtered through a sharply stylised, self-aware lens. Blending documentary textures with surreal, exaggerated set pieces, the film dismantles the mechanics of image-making and cultural spectacle.
Its visual language and fragmented structure placed the film firmly within the experimental currents of 1960s European cinema.
