Kimiko Kasai - Butterfly
The much coveted Butterfly was recorded in Tokyo in 1979 by Japanese singer Kimiko Kasai with jazz legend Herbie Hancock. Originally released only in Japan, the album brought Kasai’s vocals to a relaxed, jazz-funk set drawn from Hancock’s music.
Over time, the record found a following, with tracks like I Thought It Was You and Butterfly becoming favourites among collectors of Japanese pressings.
